Camera Crazy

Look Mom, I can...
fly....
and roll over....
and creep....
and sit up like a big boy....
and fall backwards....
and touch my toes...

The many faces of Josiah:)
the cheesy grin (my favorite)...
the "O" face...
the adorably cute face...

the smile real big face...
The future trumpet player/raspberry face...
and the most priceless picture of all
the "are you done yet" face

1st Tooth...Big Deal!!

My boy is just growing up sooo fast! I started to see his little tooth on Wed of last week and by Saturday morning it had broke through and the 2nd tooth was beginning to come in right next to it. He is going to look so cute with 2 little "toophers". Not sure why we all call teeth that, but it just sounds cute. Hard to believe it, but it is so exciting to see that first tooth make its grand appearance. It is the sign of things to come I guess. Real food some day in the near future. We did give him a teething biscuit (as recommended by one of his grandma's;) and he loved it. In fact he actually objected for the first time when I tried to take it away from him. Not sure I am ready for the time when he starts to object to things. It is so easy now. When I say he's done, he's done and thats that. But it will be fun to see his little personality grow though!

Not feeling good! Most likely from the teeth, but being a first time mom, I dragged him off to the doctor today. He had goop coming out of his eyes, all degrees of snot out of his nose and he was super congested. Plus I wanted to talk to the doctor about him screaming in the middle of the night, but not waking up and and us not being able to wake him up. He just said to give him some Tylenol before bed and see if it helps. Who knows what's causing it, but it sure is tough have him screaming out like that in the middle of hte nigt. Last night was especially bad because he wouldn't go back to sleep in his bed...he wanted to be held and every time he fell asleep and I tried to put him down, he woke back up. So I finally brought him in bed wiht me and I got about 3 hours of sleep. Needless to say, we took the day off today:) I needed a break anyway and could switch around my work schedule to do so.

I took him in a grocery cart for the first time today (but I didn't have my camera...just my camera phone, so I at least took a picture with my phone:) pathetic, I know. I had actually decided to keep the infant carseat in the car because Josiah wasn't quite ready for a grocery cart and I didn't know how else I would go shopping. Well the big day has arrived. He did just fine in the cart and played with all the food I put in next to him. He loves crinkly stuff:)

Baptism

Josiah was Baptized on May 7th, 2006. What a beautiful occassion! Not only was the weather perfect for the day, but it was so wonderful to know that so many of our family and friends are going to be there to help raise him in a Christian environment. The day just reminded me of how truly blessed we really are.

Very Busy!

I feel like I don't have time for anything anymore. I have a new found respect for mothers who work full time. It is really hard. I work all day and then when I get home I get ready for the next day (clean and refill bottles, pack lunches, pick out clothes, etc.) then I go to bed and wake up the next day and start all over. I barely have time for Josiah and the time I do have I am tired and can hardly focus on having fun with him. I am so grateful that I will eventually be able to go back to part time, because working full time with a child is for the birds.

On the up side, I am really enjoying working again. Being with adults and learning new things. It is hard to get anything done at work only being there for 2 days a week, but I am sure I will find my groove and start accomplishing some things.

Josiah is now going to bed at 9:00pm, so at least we have a couple of hours free in the evenings to just vedge out on the couch watching all the season finales. I don't know what I will do when all of my shows are done. I will be sad!! But maybe I will be able to get going on my scrapbooking again:) I would love to make some headway on his scrapbook. I got the month of December done and then one thing after another happened and I never got back to it!! Some day!!

Big Day Cont.

May 2nd, 2006

5 Months Old
(Can you believe it?)
(See the next post for the continuation of "Little Man in a Big Chair")

Before we had to leave for the day. I had everything planned and it all went according to plan. I was able to get up and get showered before Josiah was ready to eat. So that worked out well. Then I got ready and brought him down to play while I got all the bottles in the diaper bag and my lunch packed. I do so much better when I have everything planned out!!!

Singing a song with mom as she gets everything around to leave for their first day apart from each other:( Plus I wanted to get a picture of him one of the last times he would be in the infant car seat.

Josiah is tooo big for the infant carrier. We weighed and measured him at the doctors office last week and he weighed 17lbs1oz and was 27inches long. The limits on the carrier are 20lbs and 26 inches. Plus it is just sooo heavy to carry. I know we will miss the luxury of being able to carry him in while he's asleep, but such is life.

I think he had a good time at Day Care...he sure was exhausted in the evening and wanted to go to bed early. Which was ok, but it didn't give us much time to play. I am sure he will adjust to the busy days over time! Work went well and it was really nice to have some adult interaction that involved conversation other than baby talk:) Although we did talk babies once in a while:) Thank you to those of you who prayed for us and continued prayers would be appreciated over the next month as I have to work full time for a short while. We will be busy and I am sure I will look forward to relaxing with Josiah and Dan in the evenings:)

Big Day!!!

1. Today is my first day back to work. So far so good. I am looking forward to the adventure that lies ahead of me:)

2. Today is Josiah's first day at Day Care. I went yesterday to drop off all of his stuff so this morning would go a little smoother. This morning was tough, I'm not going to lie. I shed a few tears..but God granted me the peace I have been praying for and I feel pretty good so far...it is only noon, but but I called a little bit ago and he was sleeping:) Good news! That is the one thing I was concerned about..naps. I know he will play and have a good time, but I wasn't sure how he would sleep in a new place and without mom:) He did pee through his clothes already though...I guess you get what you pay for with diapers. I bought the cheap ones and apparently they just didn't cut it.

3. Today is Josiah's 5 month b-day:) I will post pictures later this week!!

4. Today we have to transfer to the big boy car seat. I looked at the side of the infant carrier and the limits for height and weight were 20lbs or 26inches. Since he is 27" we have to make the transfer. This is good news for my back, but kind of a bummer, because he sleeps so well in the infant carrier. We will see how he does with the big car seat. Hopefully he makes the transition smoothly:)
